Our Story
QUICKFOOD SA was founded in Argentina in 1995 and has become one of the most international and diversified Argentina food companies focused on animal protein. Our products are present in more than 100 countries. Although we are a young company in Argentina, we have long-established brands. Let's take a quick look at our history... The Argentine meat products company Quickfood withdrew from Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (Byma) once the Brazilian giant of the Marfrig Global Foods sector, through the Argentine company MFG Holding, concluded the acquisition of the shares that were held by minority shareholders. The securities represented 1.53% of the share capital of Quickfood and to buy them MFG Holding proposed a Voluntary Unilateral Declaration of Acquisition (DUVA) of ordinary shares, which was approved by the board of the National Securities Commission of Argentina on January 27. Perez Alati, Grondona, Benites & Arntsen and internal lawyers supported MFG Holding and Quickfood in the process of withdrawing the DUVA and, consequently, the listing of Quickfood's shares in Byma, which was finalized on February 7. Allende & Brea advised Industrial Valores, which served as an agent of the DUVA. After paying $58.8 million for the securities held by minority shareholders, MFG Holding became the sole shareholder of the company. In January 2019, Marfrig Global Food bought 91.89% of Quickfood's shares from its national BRF. In March of the same year, MFG presented a Public Acquisition Offer (OPA) to buy the remaining stake in the company (8.11%). But by not achieving the acquisition of 100% of the company's share capital, the DUVA presented. According to Ámbito, companies such as Telefónica, Petrobras and Banco Santander have followed the same path in Argentina. Quickfood is known for its Paty brand of burgers and beef medallions. Since July 2019, the brand has been marketed in Brazil as part of the Marfrig Global Foods offer.
